a prevalent thought today. sometimes, we see someone who seems better off - a friend, a rival, someone who was in the same boat - and we wonder...why can't that be me?
because we can't all be the same person.
that's all the answers i have for today.

what are you excited about?
admittedly, i am very impressionable when it comes to media. after ally mcbeal i wanted to be a lawyer, after FRIENDS and sex and the city i wanted to live in New York, after watching Grey's Anatomy I wanted to be a surgeon. Every time i watch something that touches me, something stirs inside that makes me want to throw myself off course and live out that particular fantasy.
Now it may seem to you that I may just be watching too much tv (i do), but there is something about watching TV that, in spite of what its effect on others might be, that gives me a picture of where i want to be, or how i want to feel at least. is that normal?
everyone tells me to grow up and decide already. this morning i had an epiphany (although i don't know how long this clarity will last). i was actually excited about finishing something and being good at it. i was scared at how eerily simple it was.
let's see where this goes then?

outside of comfort zones
somehow, sometime in the middle of new situations, i find myself wishing for my happy medium. but lately, i've found myself in many, many scary and seemingly new situations where i've had an incredible time.
a spur of the moment trip to puerto galera. a random sex and the city night with good girlfriends. party-hopping with people you barely know. letting your hair down completely random people. belting out on the karaoke night in front of strangers. a party turned to basketball game turned to food trip turned to arcade night turned to karaoke night turned to action movie night.
it made me feel like a completely different person. a cool person completely different from plain and proper me.
being a different person entirely is fun.

easier said than done
my friend aissa is blogging again! and how glad i am that she is. i myself am in a blogging slump, choosing not to document and write about monumental changes and shifts in my life because i myself wasnt too sure about how i felt about them.
and everytime i seem to attempt to start something good is always on. i. am. addicted. to. tv. HELP!

10 WAYS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF:
1. Write down your goals. It will help you gauge how far you’ve gone and how far you need to go to attain them.
2. Don’t linger in the past. Learn from your mistakes and move on.
3. Respect other people’s opinions. Ultimately, getting along with other people can also affect how you spend your time getting to where you need to be.
4. Don’t be prone to burnout. Take a break when you need to recharge.
5. Get into the kind of work that you like. You can solve this by just applying for jobs that you believe would bring you joy in the doing.
6. Expect a lot of bad turns to go your way. Do not set yourself up for unreasonable tasks.
7. Remember the why's of your actions. Keep a record of your decisions: start a journal and refer to it occasionally.
8. Shape your own style. Learn to work with your own rhythm.
9. Be exposed to inspirational sources. Listen to good music. Read books. Watch movies that could elicit the kind of sentiment that will give you that groove to work on tasks at hand.
10. Know that you're not alone. Everyone feels lost sometimes. Some people takes several years to figure out what they really want to do with their lives, so don’t stress it.
